Steve Corton

WM-ADASS Associate

Steve started his career in London in the 1980s, working to improve tenant engagement and involvement in local authority housing in Haringey and then Tower Hamlets during a significant period of social, cultural and religious change.  He moved north to Bury in the 90s and helped to establish Tenant Management Organisations in Greater Manchester before moving to Lincolnshire and working first in housing for North Kesteven District Council, and then in the Supporting People programme at Lincolnshire County Council and at North Lincolnshire Council’s Social Services department.  He worked for Lincoln Cathedral as Business Manager for the Lincolnshire Assembly (a strategic partnership of local government, other public sector organisations and private enterprise led by the Right Revd. Bishop Dr John Saxbee) and then from 2007 in Dudley Metropolitan Borough’s housing policy team.

He moved to Dudley PCT as Community Engagement lead in 2009 for 3 years and then worked for Midlands and Lancashire CSU as the Equality and Diversity Lead before joining NHS England as Better Care Manager for the West Midlands in 2015.

After a brief sabbatical last year, he is now back supporting the Integration and BCF programme.

Steve has managed large teams and large budgets and has experience in a wide range of operational and strategic roles. Steve describes the nature of his work as interstitial – developing and sustaining strong working relationships in and between the gaps, relationships that are inclusive, respectful of diversity, and build on complementary strengths.
