Stuart joined Birmingham City Council from being Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director of People Services at West Northamptonshire Council. He oversaw services that support the community including adult social care, children’s services and public health. Stuart began his career as a Support Worker and qualified as a Social Worker and Learning Disability Nurse. He then worked as a staff nurse in the assessment and treatment unit for adults with learning disabilities.
Stuart is lead for the WM-ADASS improvement area of prevention, independence & neighbourhoods. This covers early intervention and community capacity, integration of digital and technology-enabled care approach and links to demand management and sustainability.
