Brendan Clifford

In his role monitoring health & wellbeing and ICBs, in partnership with the University of Birmingham, Directors of Public Health and Health & Wellbeing support officers, Brendan provides briefings and papers relating to Health & Wellbeing Board, ICS development and place-based development.
Brendan also supports the Direct Payments Network.
He has over thirty-five years social services experience as a Service Director / senior leader, manager, social worker and social care practitioner mainly in the statutory sector.
As a WM ADASS Associate, he is working on a project reviewing approaches and good practice in the region in our Health and Well Being Boards and their link to the developing Integrated Care Systems. He has published research with colleagues on this theme.
He has worked with the Black Country Integrated Care System, as an Associate with SCIE where he worked on various projects and reviews including strategic safeguarding and service review as well as wide-ranging learning and development provision, and as an Independent Chair for safeguarding with a national voluntary organisation as well as leading a number of Safeguarding Adults Reviews. He was amongst the initial Chairs and Vice-Chairs of the national Principal Social Workers Network
