WM-ADASS Associate
Mark supports our Principal Social Worker network and leads our Practice Review Programme that has been in place since 2015. Practice Reviews are the region’s ‘safe and effective’ practice assurance process for adult social care, in line with CQC’s focus in this area. He also supports the Mental Health Network.
Mark has over 40 years’ experience as a senior manager and qualified social worker in social care. He was previously Deputy Director for Children’s and Adult Services at Coventry City Council. He also was national joint chair/policy lead for the Physical and Sensory Impairment Network for ADASS and the national Chair for the Principal Social Workers Network.
Over the past 10 years he has worked with WM ADASS, and also with the eye health sector and people with sight loss to produce a booklet for people who are newly certified as severely sight impaired/sight impaired; led the updating of the Certificate of Vision Impairment for the Department of Health and Social Care; and chaired the Safeguarding Adults Board in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
