As the region’s Strategic Care Market & Improvement Advisor Peter provides expert guidance on the practice review programme, engagement between care providers & commissioners, and works with the Improvement Director on the regional Improvement programme.
He offers substantial experience from both the Executive and Non-Executive perspective in leading organisations to achieve consistently great outcomes.
After a long career as a director of social care services, in Grimsby and Birmingham, and a past President of the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), he now has a range of different roles. These include chairing Turning Point and a Non-Exec of Anchor housing and care services. These demand business skills and financial acumen, but he also brings political awareness and a specialist knowledge of commissioning.
He is a qualified Senior Practitioner Coach, fascinated by the demands made upon leadership styles in organisations and continues to develop his own skills and awareness to make the best offer possible. He gets the importance of clarity of purpose, values and strategy, alongside the influence of leaders at all levels in shaping the culture of the organisation.
