Following a decision of the Supreme Court handed down yesterday (2nd June 2026) the meaning and understanding of deprivation of liberty has changed. The previous decision in Cheshire West was overturned. Consequently, some of the materials accessible from our DoLS pages will require updating. Progress will be posted on these pages.
