Social care practitice CoP

Opportunities for social care practitioners to connect with academic research in meaningful ways can be limited. Yet such interaction is essential for delivering high-quality adult social care, bridging the gap between theory and practice, ensuring that your work is grounded in the latest research and best practices and strengthening the professional identity of the sector,

This Community of Practice has been launched to provide a shared space to facilitate these goals, a  collaborative environment that offers excellent networking opportunities.

Ongoing development of the CoP is a collaborative process where practitioner views are valued and matter. It is a genuine opportunity to co-create a community that responds to the realities of practice.

Our workshop on 18th September 2025 was the first step in creating the CoP and we:

o   Helped define the purpose and priorities of the Community of Practice
o   Identified key challenges in accessing, participating and applying research evidence in everyday practice
o   Co-designed the structure, activities, and resources that would best support practitioner needs
o   Enabled networking and connection with research-active practitioners and academic partners in a collaborative environment
o   Discussed how this community can enhance professional practice and impact.
