Catherine Holden is a qualified social worker who currently works as an advanced practitioner at Wolverhampton City Council and is also seconded to WM-ADASS one day a week as a research facilitator focusing on social workers. The role is designed to raise awareness of research, promote its use, and support people to become involved in research.The overall aim is to contribute to research-informed, high quality social care practice, and to support practice driven research. Working across local authorities, universities, and research networks, Catherine aims to build confidence in research, through offering learning opportunities, mentoring, and collaborative partnerships, to support social workers to shape research questions, apply findings in practice, and develop professional leadership that connects frontline experience with innovation, improvement, and social work knowledge development.
