During 2025/26, the Exploring Perspectives on Autism Project is undertaking research with health, social care and education practitioners about their experience of recognising autism in children and young people.
A survey, and focus groups for health, social care and education practitioners is now complete and the data is being analysed. Findings will be incorporated in a report which to be launched in Birmingham at the end of June 2026.
On 13 August 2025 we presented a webinar and shared findings from the first phase of the project, which explored the experiences of parents seeking support for children and young people who may be autistic.
Speakers and panellists included:
-
Laura Ferguson, who is co-ordinating and delivering the Exploring Perspectives on Autism project
-
Debbie Hollingsworth who is co-ordinating and delivering the project alongside Laura
-
Professor Jason Schuab, the academic advisor to the first phase of the project
The video recording and slide set from that event is available from the resources section of this website.
